Managed platform

User guide

Set up Pullsight, connect repositories, and get useful AI reviews in your pull requests. This guide is tailored to the deployment you are using.

Connect a repository

Pullsight registers a repository when it receives its first pull request or merge request webhook. Install the integration for the account or organization that owns the repository, then open or update a pull request.

  1. Install the Pullsight integration and grant it access to the repositories to review.
  2. Open a pull request, or push a new commit to an existing pull request.
  3. Wait for Pullsight to post its review comments on the changed lines.
  4. Open Repositories in the dashboard to confirm the repository is active.

GitHub repository

The hosted platform uses the managed Pullsight Bot GitHub App. Install it on the GitHub account or organization that contains the repositories you want reviewed.

Open the Pullsight Bot installation page

Choose all repositories or a selected set, then create or update a pull request to start the automatic connection process.

Azure DevOps repository

Azure DevOps uses the dashboard OTP sign-in flow. After signing in, open Settings and provide the organization, project, and a personal access token with Code, Pull Request Threads, and Project and Team read/write access as needed.

Create an Azure DevOps Service Hook that sends pull request create, update, and comment events to https://app.pullsight.dev/api/webhooks/azure-devops. Open or update a pull request after saving the connection to register the repository.

Use the dashboard

After the first webhook is processed, use the dashboard to manage repositories and inspect review activity.

  • Repositories lists connected repositories and their settings.
  • Reviews shows completed and failed runs, findings, provider, and token totals.
  • Settings lets organization owners select a configured LLM provider.
  • Admin is available to eligible organization owners.

Add custom instructions

Create an instruction set for a repository to give Pullsight durable review guidance, such as architectural constraints, style rules, or security checks. Pullsight includes the applicable instructions in each future review.

Open Instructions, select the repository, add the rules your team wants enforced, and save the instruction set.

Plans and mention commands

Free plans include automatic reviews for one connected repository and a monthly review allowance. Pro adds unlimited repositories, a higher monthly allowance, and mention commands. Team adds seats, Team Board, reviewer assignment, and weekly review digests.

On Pro and Team, comment on a pull request with commands such as@pullsight review, @pullsight explain,@pullsight suggest, @pullsight summarize, or@pullsight ignore.

Troubleshooting

Repository missing from the dashboard
Open or update a pull request after installing the integration, then confirm webhook delivery.
Azure DevOps connection error
Ensure the saved organization and project match the webhook payload and that the PAT has not expired.
